B2DB Privacy Notice
Version 2.0 — 26 August 2026. Published by Advertainment Media Ltd (trading as B2DB), part of AVT Group Limited. Company no. 09021030 · VAT no. GB195809166 · ICO registration ZB008948. Registered office: Pantiles Chambers, 85 High Street, Tunbridge Wells TN1 1XP, United Kingdom.
Who we are
B2DB (b2db.com) is the database of B2B events. Privacy contact: privacy@b2db.com (goes straight into our rights-request process). General contact: hello@b2db.com.
Whose data this notice covers
People who appear in the B2DB archive because they have spoken at, chaired, or otherwise appeared on the published agenda of a B2B conference; and people who create a B2DB account or claim their profile.
What we hold and where it comes from
- Your public professional record: name, role and company as published, the sessions and events you appeared at, and the dates — collected from publicly published conference agendas and event websites. Every record keeps a link to its source.
- From your public LinkedIn profile, where matched: your profile link, headshot, follower count and country. We deliberately hold nothing else from LinkedIn.
- Business contact details (work email), where available, sourced from Apollo.io — a company that maintains its own business-contact database and is an independent controller of it. This contact layer is stored separately and is never shown publicly.
- If you claim your profile or create an account: your login identity and the changes you make.
Collection infrastructure is provided by Bright Data. Our hosting (Supabase), email delivery (Resend) and content delivery (Cloudflare) providers process data on our behalf under their data-processing terms.
Why, and our lawful basis
- Operating the public archive, directory and weekly league tables — legitimate interests (a full assessment is on file).
- Inviting you, at most twice, to claim and control your profile — legitimate interests, with the mail rules described below.
- Optional email preferences you switch on — consent, withdrawable at any time.
- Running your claimed account — performance of a contract with you.
How we rank speakers
B2DB publishes league tables ranked by the B2DB score — a measure of speaking activity (roles, recency, event weight, brand spread, and audience following) computed from the public record. The full method is published on our methodology page. Claimed profiles receive a verification boost, reflecting that verified records are more reliable. This is profiling of professional activity; it is not used to make any decision with legal or similarly significant effect about you. If you object to being ranked, we will remove you from the league tables — no justification needed, and we will not argue.
When you will see this notice
For the historic archive, telling each of 71,500+ people individually would involve disproportionate effort (most records carry no contact details), so — as UK GDPR Article 14(5)(b) permits — this public notice serves as notification, and the directory is searchable so you can find your own record at any time. If we contact you individually (for example, a claim invitation), that first message links to this notice.
How long we keep it
- Your public record: for as long as B2DB operates as an archive. A profile with no recorded appearance for 10 years is reviewed for continued inclusion.
- Contact details: deleted after the second claim invitation, or 12 months after we obtained them — whichever comes first.
- Claimed accounts: for as long as your account exists.
Sharing and international transfers
We do not sell personal data. Recipients are the service providers listed above, acting on our instructions — except Apollo.io, which is an independent controller of its own database. Some providers process data outside the UK; where they do, transfers rely on UK adequacy regulations or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses in the provider's terms. We are concluding written confirmation of the transfer mechanism with one infrastructure provider (Bright Data) and will update this notice when that concludes.
Your right to object
This right gets its own heading because it is the one that matters most here. You can object to appearing in B2DB at all, to your contact details being held, to receiving any email from us, or to being ranked — separately or together. Email privacy@b2db.com, or use the one-click links in any email we send. Objections to ranking and to marketing are honoured absolutely. Objections to the record itself are actioned through our suppression system, which blocks the data from ever being re-imported.
Your other rights
- Access — a copy of what we hold about you.
- Rectification — corrections, including through the claim flow.
- Erasure — removal of your profile, your contact details, or both.
- Restriction — a freeze while a dispute is resolved.
- Portability, where it applies.
Requests to privacy@b2db.com. We respond within one month; every request is logged on receipt so that clock starts automatically.
Complaints
Complain to us first if you're willing — privacy@b2db.com reaches the controller directly and we would rather fix it than defend it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or by post to Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Children
B2DB records professional conference speakers. No one under 18 is knowingly included; if you tell us of such a record, we remove it.
