Afia Nkrumah

Nkrumah is a writer, director and founder of Bombax Media, a studio developing original stories across film, television and publishing. Her television directing credits include Call the Midwife and Coronation Street, and she is currently developing several original projects, including the feature film Pigeons & Plantain and her debut novel, Love in Zimbabwe, which will be published in September 2026. Alongside her work as a storyteller, Nkrumah works in AI, testing advanced generative AI models for Google Labs. Her work explores how emerging technologies are reshaping the creative industries, with a particular focus on authorship, representation, IP and the future of human creativity. Bringing together practical experience from both screen production and AI development, Nkrumah speaks on the opportunities and challenges AI presents for the global content industry, helping creative leaders navigate technological change while protecting the value of original storytelling.
