Aileen Gillan

Aileen Gillan , Chief Risk Officer, joined the AA in August 2024. Aileen is a qualified barrister, and experienced senior executive and non-executive director. She has led risk and compliance functions across a range of Banks and financial institutions including Metro Bank, Lloyds Banking Group, Intertrust Group and Allica Bank. She was a subsidiary board member and member of the risk committee on the Abrdn Advisor business from 2019 until 2025. Throughout her career Aileen has focused on embedding strong risk and governance frameworks while enabling innovation and growth, and on organisational culture as a driver of sustainable performance.
