Alexandre Piel

Piel's TV industry career stretches back almost three decades. He started out in 1997 at the international sales team of France Télévisions Distribution, covering English- and Spanish-speaking territories before moving into acquisitions and pre-financing. In 2006, he joined Marathon Group via Télé Images International as head of international coproductions, staying on through the company's transition into Zodiak Rights, now Banijay. Following Zodiak's 2011 reorganisation, he took charge of all fiction and the Paris sales team as senior VP sales and acquisitions, while continuing to develop high-profile acquisitions. Piel joined Arte's drama department in September 2013 as deputy head of drama, overseeing international coproductions and acquisitions. Since 2023, he has co-piloted the department alongside head of drama Agnès Olier, covering French and European commissions, international coproductions and scripted acquisitions for Arte's platform and channel.
