Amrit Singh

Managing Director and Co-Founder, TransIndus

Amrit Singh, Managing Director and co-founder of TransIndus, has spent a lifetime shaped by travel. Born in Yangon and raised between Burma, India and the UK, she grew up crossing cultures and seas, developing a curiosity that formal study could never contain. After reading Genetics at the University of London and beginning her career in pharmaceuticals, she returned to India in the early 1980s—a journey that transformed her worldview. Six years of travelling, learning, and working with the Oberoi Group ignited the passion that would become TransIndus. Founded in 1988, TransIndus was built on a simple philosophy: to help travellers experience the real Asia—its cultures, landscapes, craftsmanship and everyday life—with authenticity, comfort and insight. The company quickly pioneered new regions for UK travellers, introducing Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Eastern India, Gujarat and the Himalayan states long before they became mainstream. Today, TransIndus crafts thoughtful, culturally rich journey
