Andrea Dimitracopoulos
Co-Founder & COO, deepMirror
Andrea Dimitracopoulos is a scientist and entrepreneur working at the intersection of life sciences and artificial intelligence, with a focus on AI for drug discovery. He studied biomedical engineering in Italy before completing a PhD at UCL, where he specialised in modelling complex biological systems such as cancer cell division. As a Herchel Smith Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge he combined experimental and computational approaches to understand how cells and neural systems form and behave. Andrea co-founded deepmirror in 2019 to bridge the gap between advanced AI and its practical use in scientific research. As COO, he has led the development of the company’s product and platform, focusing on building technology that scientists can actually use to make better decisions. He is particularly interested in how people and AI can work synergistically to reduce the time, cost and experimental burden of drug discovery.
