Forecasting and Predictive Analytics Lead, Infected Blood Compensation Authority (IBCA)
I currently work as the Forecasting and Predictive Analytics Lead at the Infected Blood Compensation Authority (IBCA), where I lead a team developing forecasting models. These forecasts are used by senior stakeholders to inform financial and operation decisions. I hold a BSc and MSc from the School of Biology at Newcastle University, where I elected to take several modules on statistical modelling, having discovered an interest in the application of statistics to biological phenomena. When I graduated, I started applying for jobs which utilised these skills and stumbled across the Government Statistical Service (GSS). I began working as a Statistical Officer in 2016 and since then have worked in a variety of roles and departments. I predominantly favour data science tools and techniques and have over my career gained a range of experience with R and Python. Alongside a passion for data, I am heavily invested in creating emotionally safe teams and growing my ability in how I, as a leader
