Arthur Byng Nelson

Arthur Byng Nelson is a Partner in the Private Wealth Team and Head of Art & Heritage at Sherrards Solicitors LLP. He advises individuals and families on succession planning, wills, trusts, and the establishment of charities. Arthur has a particular specialism in art-related matters, advising artists and those responsible for artists’ estates on legal, commercial, and strategic planning. He also advises collectors and owners of art and heritage property on tax matters specific to this area. Arthur is a member of STEP, PAIAM, the International Catalogue Raisonné Association, and the Institute of Art & Law. He is a trustee of Art History Link-Up, a charity that provides free art history courses to under-represented students. Arthur is a member of the Charity Law Association and the C20 Society, through which he offers free simple wills as part of their “Leave a Legacy” initiative.
