Ayub Bhayat

Ayub Bhayat is Chief Data and Analytics Officer and Director of Data and Analytics at NHS England, and was named HSJ Digital Leader of the Year 2024. With more than 20 years of experience leading digital, data and analytics transformation across the NHS, he has built his career from the ground up, starting as an Information Analyst in 2005 and progressing through a wide range of data, analytics and technology leadership roles. Today, Ayub leads NHS England's national data and analytics function, overseeing critical national data platforms, England's health statistics, and major transformation programmes that support the delivery of the NHS 10 Year Health Plan. Passionate about using data to improve decision-making and patient outcomes, he works closely with clinicians, operational leaders and policymakers to drive change across the health service.
