Ben Stephenson
Detective Sergeant, Metropolitan Police Service - Partnership & Prosecution Reform Team - Met Prosecutions OCU
I joined the MPS in 2014 as a response PC in Wandsworth. I quickly joined the CID as a DC in early 2017 before moving to Hackney & Tower Hamlets (CE-BCU) on promotion to DS in 2020. As a DS on an extremely busy BCU, I held responsibility for a number of incidents from live kidnaps to firearms incidents to the initial stages of a homicide investigation. In November 2023, I joined MO10 (Met Prosecutions), specifically, the Partnership & Prosecution Reform Team. In this role, I work with partners (including the CPS, HMCTS and the Judiciary) across the Criminal Justice spectrum. My key responsibilities concern case file compliance (DGA), interviewing, developing training products and implementing policies across the MPS, for example the Local Charging Model.
