Chris Ugbode
Science Portfolio Manager, UK Dementia Research Institute
Neuroscience discovery and translational leader with deep expertise in glial biology, CNS transcriptomics and early-stage drug discovery. I have led multiple neuroscience programmes from target identification through preclinical development, shaping mechanism-of-action hypotheses, biomarker strategies and portfolio prioritisation with clear clinical line of sight. My experience spans academia, large pharma and small biotech, including four years at Cerevance, which recently reported positive Phase 3 efficacy data for a non-dopaminergic therapy in Parkinson’s disease. I am currently leading national data strategy for the UK Dementia Research Institute, alongside other strategic initiatives across the institute. I remain active across the drug discovery and biotech ecosystem, with a particular interest in how human CNS datasets, translational biomarkers and emerging computational tools can be used to build more compelling therapeutic hypotheses in neurodegeneration. I am also developing
