Christoph Schubert

"Christoph Schubert leads the product team at Conduktor, where he spends his days making Apache Kafka less intimidating. He arrived at product management the scenic way: a background in mathematics and software development and longer stint teaching at universities, where a dean nudged him toward big data. He was skeptical. It didn't last. A consulting project introduced him to Kafka, and his work there caught Confluent's attention. He went on to spend years at Confluent Professional Services helping enterprises get streaming into production, then joined Conduktor to lead Sales Engineering before moving across to product, where he now turns customer frustrations into features instead of workarounds. Christoph has spoken at events including Current London. He lives in the countryside near Bremen, Germany, where he does photography and serves as a volunteer firefighter."
