Cole Heilborn is the founder and creative director of Port Side, a content strategy and production studio helping outdoor brands create emotionally resonant, strategic content that drives real business outcomes. Over the past decade, Cole has worked at the intersection of storytelling, brand strategy, and filmmaking, designing content strategy, documentaries, and distribution strategies for brands and organizations across the outdoor industry. In 2020, Cole launched the Backcountry Marketing Podcast to address a challenge he was noticing most brands struggled with: understanding how to make video content that was not only creative, but truly effective. What started as a search for answers has evolved into more than 225+ episodes exploring every facet of the outdoor marketing world. Through conversations with leading marketers, founders, and creatives, the podcast takes listeners behind the scenes of the outdoor industry to uncover what makes modern creative work actually work.
