Dan McGolpin

McGolpin leads the strategic direction, operations and finances for BBC iPlayer and the corporation’s TV channel portfolio of BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Three and BBC Four. In 2025, McGolpin led a BBC Group strategy for YouTube, bringing together teams in BBC Content, BBC News and BBC Studios. He has overseen its rollout in 2026, including the launch of 50+ new BBC YouTube channels. Since the start of 2026, BBC iPlayer has been growing viewing hours faster than any other streaming service in the UK, while BBC YouTube viewing is up 30%. McGolpin directly oversees acquisitions, youth and digital commissioning and is chair of the BBC’s TV Management Committee. He was instrumental in the redesign of the BBC’s TV commissioning system in 2021 and has continued to work closely with each commissioning team to deliver high-impact programmes across all genres.
