I have worked in the veterinary industry since July 2017, starting as a small animal Veterinary Receptionist and quickly discovering the breadth and importance of the role. I went on to work with practice management to create a dedicated reception staff trainer role before progressing to Team Leader at the practice’s main hospital. Alongside my practical experience, I completed a Level 3 NVQ in Customer Service. In 2021, I was given the opportunity by the BVRA to deliver my first lecture at the virtual SPVS/VMG Congress, highlighting the impact of Covid-19 on front-of-house teams and raising awareness of the vital role they play in practice. I subsequently became one of the BVRA’s first ambassadors, representing veterinary receptionists across the UK, and have since written magazine and CPD content, developed training tools and delivered lectures at BVRA and SPVS congresses.
