I am an education and training professional with 38 years combined experience applying academic research to practice across public safety, counter-terrorism, and complex event environments. My primary professional expertise is rooted in education, curriculum development, training, assessment, and quality assurance, supported by sustained postgraduate study and ongoing doctoral research. My academic work has consistently focused on prevention, risk reduction, and the practical enactment of policy at grassroots level. Between 2006 and 2009, during my BA (Hons) in Education, my research examined the phenomenon of gang involvement in the United Kingdom, leading to the development of a nationally recognised diversionary curriculum aimed at preventing youth involvement in gangs, drugs, and weapons.
