Dean Shepherd is a Chartered Tax Adviser and Fellow of the AAT who runs his own accountancy practice. During his 30 years in the profession, Dean spent eight years in the software industry with Wolters Kluwer and TaxCalc — giving him a rare view from both sides of tax and accounting technology. As a sole practitioner, he has since made AI and automation central to how his firm operates, from practice management and compliance delivery through to tax planning and client advisory, proving that a lean, modern practice can punch well above its weight.
