Deana Rouse

Deana is the Director of Business Operations in the Ministry of Defence, responsible for directing and enabling MOD-wide business improvement, productivity and efficiency through technology, process simplification and upskilling; the management of the Private Finance Initiative associated with the MOD headquarters in Whitehall; the day to day delivery of building services, safety, security and business resilience; and the establishment of the Department of State Digital function. Prior to this, Deana was the Chief Operating Officer of Government Security in the Cabinet Office where she transformed the Government Security function and redesigned the Government Security profession. Earlier roles as a Senior Civil Servant in the MOD included leading the civilian workforce and Command Secretariat for Navy Command, being the Chief of Staff to the Permanent Secretary and leading the Defence Security function.
