Derek Russell

Derek Russell is an accomplished Structural Engineer with over 25 years’ experience in design and management of construction projects. Since joining Techrete in 2018 as Technical Director he has been responsible for the design of over 150 Architectural Precast Facades on a variety of building types. Derek has also been instrumental in the development of Techrete’s sustainability strategy, including the development of low cardon concretes, over a five year research and development programme. Derek now heads Techrete’s Business Development, including preconstruction, with his focus on maximising efficiency and value to Clients, both in terms of value and sustainable impact. Prior to joining Techrete Derek worked as a Consultant Engineer on the delivery of a variety of commercial, healthcare, residential and marine engineering projects. Derek has a PhD in Concrete Technology and is a Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer.
