Dr Claire Drakeley

Dr. Claire Drakeley is Deputy Head of School for the School of Marketing and Hospitality Management at the University of Northampton, where she also leads the BA(Hons) Hospitality Management courses. One of a small number of people in the UK holding a doctorate in event management, her research centres on the MBED (Making Better Event Decisions) framework and simulation-based learning, including the multi-agency live simulation Operation Nexus+. She chairs the AEME Research SIG, leads the nine-university SIMPACT/SIMSIG Community of Practice, and is a National Fellow of the Centre for Events and Festivals. Her career spans event production, arts management, and sport before moving into academia.
