Dr. Martyn Hussey

Dr. Martyn Hussey is a founding member of Wayland Additive and serves as the company's Head of Technology & Innovation. With a Ph.D. in Experimental Atomic Physics from The University of Manchester, Martyn brings a deep, foundational expertise in charged particle physics to the field of additive manufacturing. His background was pivotal in overcoming the historical stability issues associated with electron beam powder bed fusion (EB-PBF). Martyn was one of the principal architects of Wayland Additive's proprietary NeuBeam® process. He played a crucial role in developing the active charge neutralisation process and technology that lies at the heart of NeuBeam and the Calibur3 AM system. Martyn's work has been instrumental in creating a 'hot part' process, rather than a 'hot bed' process.
