Dr Sofia Pineda Ochoa

Dr. Pineda Ochoa was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, where she completed medical school before moving to the US for postgraduate medical training in paediatrics and psychiatry. Her passion for medicine has always stemmed from a fundamental interest in survival. This same drive led her to environmental issues, as she realised that the degradation of the natural world threatens the survival of countless species. Bridging science and storytelling, Dr Pineda Ochoa produced Endgame 2050, featuring Moby, which was distributed across 29 public television channels, as well as Prime Video, Tubi and Apple TV. Her second feature documentary, Greenwashed, featuring BBC presenter Chris Packham, offers a more personal and hard-hitting exploration of comforting narratives that distort our understanding of sustainability. The film premiered recently on 40 public television channels across Latin America and is currently seeking English-language distribution.
