Emma King-Smith
Chancellor's Fellow, University Of Edinburgh
Emma is a Chancellor's Fellow in AI and Datascience at the University of Edinburgh. Her research investigates the development of deep learning model frameworks tailored for organic molecule prediction. Emma began her career as an experimental chemist, having worked as a process chemist at Genentech (South San Francisco) before completing her PhD under the tutelage of Prof. Hans Renata (The Scripps Research Institute Jupiter, Florida) in chemoenzymatic total synthesis. Her postdoctoral research as a Newton International Fellow (Royal Society) and Junior Research Fellow (Wolfson College) was completed in the groups of Dr Alpha Lee and later Prof. Matthew Gaunt (University of Cambridge) where she built practical ML models for reaction prediction
