Frans van Hoeflaken

Frans van Hoeflaken is a geoscientist with 30+ years of experience as a consultant in a wide range of exploration projects, including studies for both the oil industry and academia. His main focus is on geological surveying and regional studies in underexplored areas; logging outcrop sections, structural traversing, mapping and sampling, as well as detailed sedimentological studies (outcrop analogues). His approach is combining ‘old style’ geological fieldwork with new concepts and techniques. Mapping and block surveys have been performed in a wide variety of environments ranging from deserts to tropical mountains. He enjoys coaching students and counterparts as well as working in a team.
