Gareth Davies

Gareth Davies served as an RTR officer for almost 40 years. He has been researching the lesser known aspects of Tank Corps and Royal Tank Regiment history for over 15 years, and has uncovered a number of forgotten stories and has been able to correct a few myths. In this talk, he will tackle a couple of these myths as he examines the decision to send tanks to the Middle East and the challenges they faced once there. Davies also looks at their actions in April 1917 at the Second Battle of Gaza and in November during the Third Battle of Gaza.
