George Papadatos

George is the Global Head of Data and AI Enablement at Syngenta Crop Protection R&D where he leads several digital transformation initiatives and capabilities, including award-winning data, information and agentic AI platforms, as well as data and AI governance, literacy and upskilling. George has a BSc in science, as well as a MSc and PhD in data science and informatics. He has got more than 20 years of experience in senior roles in data science and data strategy, especially applied to large, R&D-driven organisations, such as Pharma, Biotech and Agrochemical companies. His academic work has led to more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and books with thousands of citations. More recently, he was voted one of the top 100 most influential leaders in data and AI for 2026 by DataIQ.
