Ghazia Saleemi

Dr Ghazia Saleemi, Consultant Obstetrician, Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Saleemi studied at the University of Dundee and qualified in 2000. She completed her specialist training in the Mersey region and was appointed as a Consultant at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester in 2016. She was awarded the Fellowship of the RCOG in 2025. She has a specialist interest in Pre-term labour and set up this service at Wythenshawe over 9 years ago. The service was a regional winner of the “Maternity Unit Marvels” by Baby Lifeline Charity. She also has a specialist interest in multiple pregnancies and set up and runs a specialist clinics for these and other high risk pregnancies. At a regional level, Dr Saleemi was appointed as the Clinical Lead for Preterm Birth for Greater Manchester on 2019 and has supported the units within Manchester to set up their Preterm Birth services in line with the recommendations set out in the NHS initiative Saving Babies Lives Car
