I hold a post-doctoral position at the University of Nantes (France), where I study the role of enteroendocrine cells in the onset and progression of Parkinson’s disease. My main research interests include the investigation of the molecular mechanisms contributing to neurodegenerative disorders with the aim to develop innovative therapeutic protocols. Previously, I completed my PhD at the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN, UK), where my research focused on characterizing a newly discovered function of LRRK2 and its role in the clearance of alpha-synuclein aggregates in Parkinson’s disease. During my MSc at the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa (Italy), I explored the non-canonical roles of nuclear tau, identifying a mechanism of gene expression dysregulation in tauopathies. My expertise spans a range of techniques, including Molecular Biology assays, microscopy, yeast-two-hybrid screening, cloning and CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, synthesis and administration of pro
