Gosia Wamil

Dr Gosia Wamil, MD, PhD, MSc, FRCP, FESC, is a Consultant Cardiologist and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, and an Assistant Professor at Mayo Clinic in the USA, with expertise in multimodality cardiovascular imaging and heart failure. She completed her specialist cardiology training at Oxford University Hospitals and has developed an NHS clinical practice focused on the use of advanced cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, cardiac CT and CMR, to refine diagnosis, guide treatment decisions and improve risk stratification in complex cardiovascular disease. She contributed to national guideline development through her role on the NICE Diabetes Pharmacotherapy Committee, where she has advised on the management of cardiovascular disease in people living with diabetes. Dr Wamil’s research career began in translational cardiovascular science. She completed a British Heart Foundation MSc–PhD fellowship at the University of Edinburgh, where her doctoral work
