Ian Sumpter

Through my career I have developed training in all aspects of landbased skills, mainly machinery specific training. I have worked as a Greenkeeper and was a City & Guilds Independent End Point Assessor (IEPA) for Greenkeeping apprenticeships. I worked for a Toro distributor and also directly for Toro (Minneapolis) in both service and training manager roles. Since 2017 I have run my own training and service support business with customers in the UK and internationally. As a recognised Mechanical engineer, I am a member of the institute of mechanical engineers. For 15 years I was a member on two agricultural engineers’ association (AEA) committees. The AEA training committee in which I helped develop and drive the industry’s first technician accreditation scheme (LTA). And the pesticide application committee where I was involved in the introduction of the National sprayer test scheme (NSTS).
