Iker Estébanez Mediavilla

Iker Estébanez is Head of International Business Development at GMV Intelligent Transportation Systems, working on the commercial and strategic development of smart mobility and ticketing solutions worldwide. His journey in ticketing began in the early 2010s, far from conference stages and slide decks, on the ground at the Ahmedabad Bus Rapid Transit System (BRT) in India, contributing to the commissioning one of the country’s first smart ticketing systems, which at the time meant token- and smart card–based revenue collection. It was a hands-on introduction to what “making ticketing work” really means in real-life operations.
