Jeremy Barton

Jeremy is General Counsel at the FLA, whose members accounted for over £160bn of new finance to UK businesses and consumers in 2025. His focus is on coordination of the financial industry’s response to the FCA’s £7.5bn consumer motor finance redress scheme issued by the FCA. Previously, Jeremy has served as General Counsel at a number of professional service firms, most recently at KPMG UK and before that in global General Counsel roles at each of The Boston Consulting Group, Ernst & Young and Andersen. Jeremy is Deputy Chair of the judging panel for the Legal Technology Awards, Chair of the legaltech startup, Authentic Legal AI, and serves on a number of advisory boards in the legal sector, having also served two terms on the Board of ACC – Europe.
