Jezid Miranda

Dr. Jezid Miranda is a Maternal–Fetal Medicine specialist, fetal surgeon, and researcher from Colombia. He completed his training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cartagena and earned a PhD in Fetal Medicine and Surgery through a European consortium including the University of Barcelona, KU Leuven, and Lund University. He is Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cartagena and Chair of the FIGO Committee on Health Systems Strengthening and Respectful Care. Dr. Miranda is also a member of the ISUOG Scientific Committee. His clinical and research work focuses on fetal therapy, preeclampsia, prematurity, maternal immunization, and implementation of innovative diagnostic technologies in low-resource settings. He is recognized for advancing minimally invasive fetal surgery and maternal–fetal research in Latin America, while promoting equitable and respectful care for women and newborns globally.
