Johanna Perens

Johanna Perens is a biomedical physicist and computer scientist with deep expertise in 3D brain imaging, computational image analysis, and large-scale data integration for neuroscience applications. She holds a double M.Sc. in Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering Physics from the Technical University of Munich and KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and completed an industrial Ph.D. at Technical University of Denmark, Gubra A/S, and Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance, focused on enabling multimodal whole-brain analysis for drug discovery. Over the past eight years, Johanna has played a leading role in building high-throughput imaging workflows in the biotech industry, integrating light sheet microscopy with robotics, automating AI-powered image analysis, and standardizing processing of terabyte-scale datasets.
