John Brittan

John Brittan is Chief Geophysicist for the Imaging Group at TGS. Following a PhD and postdoctoral research at Imperial College London, where he used Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) to image geological structures including the Chicxulub impact crater, John has held positions at PGS, ION and TGS, spanning research and development and seismic data processing operations. As Chief Geophysicist, he is responsible for guiding the strategic development of TGS’s seismic signal processing, model building and imaging technology portfolio. His work also focuses on understanding how emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, are transforming the way subsurface data is imaged and interpreted.
