Johnson M. George is the General Manager of Umm Al Quwain Free Trade Zone (UAQFTZ), where he has been leading the organization since 2017. With over two decades of professional experience spanning corporate and commercial law, regulation, compliance and Free Zone development, he brings a strong legal and commercial perspective to his role. Prior to joining UAQFTZ, Johnson held key positions within another prominent UAE Free Zone authority, serving in regulatory, compliance and in-house legal advisory capacities. This experience provided him with an extensive understanding of the UAE business environment, regulatory frameworks and the practical considerations faced by both local and international investors establishing and operating businesses in the country. Since taking the helm at UAQFTZ, he has overseen the Free Zone’s development across multiple facets, including infrastructure and facilities, licensing, operations, investor services and the introduction of innovative and flexible
