Joseph Nyandwi

Joseph NYANDWI is a Medical Doctor with a background of Nephrology (PhD), Immunology (Master) and Public Health (Master). He is Associate Professor at the University of Burundi in the Faculty of Medicine. He is a Researcher and author or co-author of more than 60 publications on communicable and non-communicable diseases, as well as other public health topics. He serves as Principal Investigator and Coprincipal Investigator for several research projects funded by EDCTP (including the IMPRIMA, GREAT LIFE, JUA KIVU project and others), USAID, ENABEL, and other partners. He currently serves as Director General of the National Public Health Institute of Burundi. He is the President of the National Commission of Science, Technology and Innovation and the Head of the National Board of ethics. As a senior reseacher , he is Commisioner of the East African Health research Commission. Professor Joseph NYANDWI has also been the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Burundi.
