Karen Juggins MBE

Dr Karen Juggins is a Consultant Orthodontist at Royal Stoke University Hospital, a specialty examiner and the orthodontic representative on the Clinical Standards Committee of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Alongside her clinical and professional roles, Karen is passionate about taking oral health beyond the traditional dental setting. She founded KeepStokeSmiling, an innovative community oral health initiative which has since grown into the national KeepBritainSmiling campaign. At the heart of the initiative is the use of football as a vehicle to engage with local communities and make oral health education accessible, relevant and fun. Through partnerships with professional football clubs and their community foundations, the campaign has taken positive oral health messages directly to children, families and communities. The original partnership with Stoke City Football Club and The Premier League Charity was recognised with the EFL Championship Community Project of the Sea
