Katharina Gruenberg

Dr. Katharina Gruenberg is Head of EU H₂ External Environment, responsible for the strategic integration, regulatory alignment, and risk positioning of the European hydrogen portfolio across policy, infrastructure, and markets. She oversees coherence between hydrogen production, transport, storage, and demand assets and evolving EU and national regulatory frameworks, supporting scalable, investment‑ready deployment across multiple jurisdictions. Dr. Gruenberg brings nearly two decades of global energy experience, including more than ten years focused on hydrogen. She previously served as Commercial Director of Holland Hydrogen 1, Europe’s first large‑scale electrolyser to reach final investment decision. The 200‑megawatt electrolyser is now nearing completion and is establishing one of Europe’s first fully integrated hydrogen value chains, including an initial stretch of the European Hydrogen Backbone.
