Kevin Schofield

Kevin’s career began with BP in 1982 as a Carbonate Sedimentologist working international E&P projects, moving to Houston in 1991 via a 3-year stint in Development in Aberdeen. The Gulf of Mexico shifted his focus to Deepwater interpretation, and in 1997 he joined Conoco as Global Deepwater “guru”. Three years of guruhood closed his career as an SME, and he became a Technical Leader, initially as Conoco’s Chief Geologist in Aberdeen. In 2002 a stint as ConocoPhillips’ Geoscience Lead (Kuparuk Assets) in Alaska presaged a return to Houston as Chief Geologist Development and Production at BHP. Other BHP roles included VP Geoscience Technology and Global Geoscience Manager before moving to Maersk Oil in Denmark as Corporate Chief Geologist in 2011. In 2016 he was Maersk’s Manager of Deepwater assets when the office closed and he became a consultant, teaching for Leeds University and doing project work with Actus Veritas.
