Laura Spence

Laura Spence is a UK-trained midwife, perinatal mental health specialist and the founder of NeuroNatal Academy CIC, a social enterprise dedicated to improving maternity care for neurodivergent people. Known online as “The ADHD Midwife”, Laura combines more than 15 years of professional experience with her own lived experience of late-diagnosed ADHD. She holds a Master’s degree in Perinatal Mental Health, awarded with Merit, and her research explored executive functioning in mothers with ADHD during the postnatal period. Her work focuses on making pregnancy, birth and early parenthood more accessible for autistic and ADHD people, particularly through sensory-informed care, communication adjustments and greater professional understanding. Laura provides training, consultancy and education to maternity teams, charities, universities and national organisations.
