Liz Merrifield

Liz Merrifield is Information Governance Lead for the BioResource Data Accelerator Project, based within the Wales Gene Park, located within the Genomics Facility in Cardiff Edge Business Park. The BioResource Data Accelerator Project brings together academic colleagues within Cardiff University, including Genomics Partnership Wales, Cardiff ECMC, Wales Cancer Biobank and the Centre for Trials Research, with healthcare providers including Velindre NHS Trust and Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, to deliver a number of novel project exemplars linking genomic data for research. With a background of over 15 years as a Quality Assurance Manager in clinical trials and internal audit, she brings expertise in legal and regulatory compliance in the areas of research ethics and data stewardship across the entire research lifecycle, from the inception of a research idea, through data collection and analysis, to data archival and onward use.
