Luciano Pignataro

Luciano Pignataro has a degree in Philosophy and is a professional journalist. He was head of the department at the Mattino newspaper in Naples, where he still covers gastronomy and writes Italy’s longest-running wine column in a daily newspaper. From 1998 to 2017, he contributed to L’Espresso’s Restaurant Guide (serving as coordinator for Southern Italy for the last five years) and, from its founding until 2018, to Slow Wine as the editor responsible for Campania and Basilicata. His website, created in 2004, is among the most-visited in Italy in the food and wine sector. He has covered the pizza renaissance from the very beginning, both on his blog and on Il Mattino. An adjunct professor at the Department of Agriculture, he also developed a video course on pizza in collaboration with Federica Web Learning. He has written numerous books and guides. His most recent publications include: La Pizza (Hoepli), Il Metodo Cilento (Mondadori), and La dieta del Cilento (Oscar Mondadori).
