Luis Bassett

Luis Bassett joined the Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) - the UK’s largest trade association for the construction plant sector - in October 2024, taking on the newly created role of Decarbonisation and Sustainability Manager. Luis brings 11 years’ experience working with construction plant, including eight years with the London Borough of Merton as a regulator in construction and exhumations, visiting hundreds of sites. His earlier career also provided valuable hands-on experience in areas including pest control and biohazard remediation, fostering a strong appreciation for pragmatism in all roles held since. Now specialising in emissions control, exhaust systems, temporary power and emissions modelling, Luis combines strong technical knowledge with extensive practical experience. This real-world perspective helps shape the CPA’s approach to decarbonisation.
