Marcelo Rivolta

Marcelo is a world leader in the area of cochlear regeneration, pioneering the application of stem cells into the hearing field. He has over 30 years of experience in auditory research and in the clinical developmental of pluripotent stem cells. He is Professor of Sensory Stem Cell Biology and the Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Rinri Therapeutics, a biotech company aiming to translate stem cell technologies for the treatment of hearing loss. He was recently awarded The Sharpey-Schafer Prize Lecture for Translational Physiology, in recognition of his pioneering work successfully bridging the gap between academia and the medical industry.
