Matt Mollison

Matt Mollison is the Chief Data Scientist / Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Branch International where he leads the team that builds and deploys machine learning models that strive to improve financial access for the world's rising middle class. Each day, these models facilitate thousands of automated credit underwriting decisions, making a tangible impact on people's lives. His experience at Branch covers the entire ML lifecycle and more: working with data pipelines; writing scalable code; training, evaluating, deploying and monitoring models; running experiments; and effectively sharing results. Throughout his journey at Branch, Matt has used cutting-edge ML techniques to optimize credit underwriting and fraud detection and to develop valuable internal tools. Prior to Branch, he worked at various startups in the Bay Area, mentored aspiring data scientists, and finished his PhD in cognitive neuroscience at the University of Colorado Boulder. He is based in Boston, MA.
