Merve Begüm Bacınoğlu

Merve Begüm Bacınoğlu is a PhD student in Experimental Medicine at the University of Milan. She graduated in Biotechnology in 2023 and subsequently joined the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Neurologico Carlo Besta (FINCB) as a research fellow, where she developed solid expertise in the molecular and biochemical study of neurodegenerative diseases. Her doctoral research is currently carried out in the laboratory of specialized biochemistry of neurological proteinopathies, coordinated by Dr. Fabio Moda within the BIOMETRA Department of the University of Milan and located at FINCB, providing a unique translational research environment that integrates research and clinical expertise. Her research focuses on the discovery and validation of biomarkers for prion and α-synucleinopathies, leveraging seed amplification assays and minimally invasive biospecimens to support the development of innovative strategies for the early and accurate diagnosis of these disorders.
