Michael Bachman

Michael Bachman is Head of AI Research and Emerging Technology Strategy at Boomi. He studies technology up to ten years ahead of the current state of the art and works out what it means for the systems companies are building today. Over two decades he has worked across AI R&D, data pipeline development, infrastructure planning, application integration, and performance analysis, which gives his forecasts a bias toward what will actually run in production. He watches for category shifts and new entrants before they show up in analyst coverage, and favors patterns that don't accumulate technical debt. He is the author of the Data Management for Agentic Systems (O'Reilly, schedule for release in late 2026).
