Otto Benz joined Nationwide Building Society in 2021 as the Payments Director and recently expanded his role, becoming Director of Customer Technology & Payments. He is responsible for delivering valuable and resilient payments experiences to Nationwide’s customers, as well as influencing across the UK payments industry. He looks after all forms of payments processing at Nationwide, as well as Open Banking. In his role as Director of Customer Technology & Payments, Otto is accountable for running and changing the application technology stack which differentiates Nationwide from its competitors, across retail, mortgages and payments. Customer Technology’s mission is to provide simpler and more adaptable banking technology, so we can exceed customer and colleague expectations of Nationwide.
