Dr Philip George MBBS FRACGP AFRACMA MAICD GradCertHPE is Director of Clinical Training at Monash Doctors Education and a senior consultant with Hospital in the Home (HITH) at Monash Health. Monash Health provides one in fifteen of all episodes of hospital and specialist care in Australia. Its HITH service is the largest in the southern hemisphere, and remains one of the most mature acute home based programs globally. Phil led the Monash HITH service during and following the COVID-19 pandemic, with responsibility for patient selection, deterioration and escalation pathways, and the safe expansion of acute care into homes and community settings. His academic interests centre on virtual models of acute care, and the education, supervision and governance requirements that underpin their safe delivery at scale.
